Genesis 17:5-11

5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, ^{▼▼ Abram means exalted father} but ^byour name shall be Abraham, ^{▼▼ Abraham means father of a multitude} ^dfor I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make ^eyou into nations, and ^fkings shall come from you. 7 And I will ^gestablish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, ^hto be God to you and to your offspring after you. 8 And ⁱI will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and ^jI will be their God.”

9 And God said to Abraham, “As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations. 10 This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11 You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a ^ksign of the covenant between me and you.

Deuteronomy 10:16

16 Circumcise therefore ^lthe foreskin of your heart, and be no longer ^mstubborn.

Deuteronomy 30:6

6 And ⁿthe Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, ^oso that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

Jeremiah 4:4

4 ^pCircumcise yourselves to the Lord;
remove the foreskin of your hearts,
O men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem;
^qlest my wrath go forth like fire,
and burn with none to quench it,
^rbecause of the evil of your deeds.”

Jeremiah 9:26

26 ^sEgypt, Judah, Edom, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and ^tall who dwell in the desert who cut the corners of their hair, for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are ^uuncircumcised in heart.”

Romans 2:25-29

25 For circumcision indeed is of value ^vif you obey the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision. 26 So, if ^wa man who is uncircumcised keeps ^xthe precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded ^{▼▼Or counted} as circumcision? 27 Then he who is physically ^{▼▼Or is by nature} uncircumcised but keeps the law ^aawill condemn you who have ^abthe written code ^{▼▼Or the letter} and circumcision but break the law. 28 For ^adno one is a Jew ^aewho is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. 29 But a Jew is one ^afinwardly, and ^agcircumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. ^ahHis praise is not from man but from God.

Romans 4:11-12

11 ^aiHe received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was ^ajto make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well, 12 and to make him the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
